MOXIE PICTURES’ ROB LEGATO AND SETH GORDON TAKE HOME OSCAR GOLD

Moxie Pictures director Rob Legato took home the Oscar® for Outstanding Achievements in Visual Effects along with colleagues Joss Williams, Ben Grossman and Alex Henning for their work on Martin Scorsese’s critically acclaimed 3D feature, Hugo.

Additionally, Moxie director Seth Gordon served as a producer for Undefeated, which took home the award for Best Documentary Feature.

Legato won his first Academy Award in 1998 for his revolutionary visual effects work on James Cameron’s Titanic. Hugo marks the continuation of a long-running collaborative relationship between Legato and Scorsese that has spanned nearly a decade on films such as The Aviator, The Departed, Shine A Light and Shutter Island. As Hugo’s Visual Effects Supervisor, Legato used the most advanced motion picture technology to celebrate the very earliest forms of cinema’s visual magic, including the pioneering work of 19th century French filmmaker Georges Méliès.
